When twitter.com first rolled out, a friend of mine referred to it as the most narcissistic piece of tech she’d ever seen. She was right. “Microblogging” was just an even easier way to scream “LOOK AT ME!!! I’M SO FUCKING CLEVER!!!”

I will concede that while it brought upon us the end of civilized discourse online at a scale unseen and incredible pain and bad vibes, it also brought with it a simple piece of modern art: the meal picture.

I really did enjoy seeing what people were having for lunch because it was either really interesting or really boring and either way it was a kind of art.

So here’s my breakfast taken with the Kodak Charmera.

An egg, cheese, and ham sandwich on a plate in front of a coffee mug, glass of orange juice, and french press. All are on a white table.
