About

I used to blog a lot. I enjoyed it.

In fact, a recent project was the archiving of my blog that started somewhere back in roughly 1999. What could be salvaged, was. It’s all on an archive now and I can direct family and friends to things that were important while at the same time putting on a new domain and a new approach. I’m older now. It shows.

The plan here is to put out a little zine every month. Something that includes the ridiculously bad poetry I’ve written in little notebooks over the past 20-something years and fun little lo-fi pictures from a keychain camera that I carry around instead of my phone. Also? For real? I’m composing again.

I used to write a lot of electronic/computer music. Heavily processed sounds and textures made with command line utilities and patience. Before all of the cool plugins and UIs showed up. Before live coding and browser-based music. There’s an itch to return to that. Why not scratch it? There are new tools and cool things to play with. Might be a chance to feel like myself again in this stage of life.

This is also a place for me to embrace the “smolweb”. Self-hosted. Static. Slower. No database backed CMS. No deadlines or planned posts. Just me putting my stuff out there when it’s done. If you read this? You found it. Cool!

Also? If you’re into it, check out the Gemini Capsule. It’s going to be slightly different in content, but not by much. That thing right there is a software terrarium I keep on my shelf that makes me smile when I look at it.

That’s About it. Heh.
