This is a clear sign that the world is moving in a positive direction.

They closed the parking lot to a favorite local park this summer so that they could do some much needed work on the facilities. There’s already a new pathway that doesn’t run through the parking lot, flush toilets, bike rack, and a bike tool station with pump. Most importantly? Publically available water. This is the only water on the entire path that runs through two counties.

The water is important to me for the cyclists but also for the unhoused population that I know exists along the path in the adjacent forested areas. I’m guessing they use the river for water now and this would be a welcome relief from that.

Oh? If you’re the kind of person to call the cops when they see an unhoused person using public facilities or taking a nap in the park? Fuck you. No. Really. FUCK YOU! YOU are the problem.

Glad the path is open again.
